Spark PM 1: Design – Project Management – Leadership

The design process can look like a black box or a divine spark  of inspiration.  While the best projects depend on a good dose of inspiration, all projects depend on a solid process.

We believe that to bring that initial enthusiasm to a successful finish, astute project management is needed. Part of the magic is that responsible Project Management is a key component to building trust.  Once that trust is established great things happen: Our ideas get embraced and we get to spend our time designing better buildings!

Architectural projects take months, often years,  and  can involve hundreds of people. An architectural project is a major project management undertaking – and a creative act.

We are not perfect,  but determined to learn every day.  This mini series is aimed to share some insights and open up discussion. Firmly embedding those insights into everyday practice is a challenge, but  acknowledging both the value and effort it takes up front is a great motivation.

Part 2 shares some of the key ingredients.
