Historic Rehabilitation

Lacey House

Helena, Montana

John J. Lacey House is a freestanding building is a two-story brick structure on a rusticated (gray stone) daylight basement. It was built 1888-1889 in the characteristic Helena Vernacular Style with Italianate influence. BSPARK is working on the full rehabilitation of the property to create two housing units, which will include site work, brick repair, window replacements, roof replacement, and a full interior remodel including all new systems (Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing).

The project was approved for Historic tax credits from the National Park Service. Our main challenge is to maintain the building’s historic character while bringing to the building into this century. Working with original floor plans, we proposed to rebuild a front porch that was demolished by previous owners.

Completion: Est. 2024
